The recoil buffer in the rear of the upper receiver is all that stands between the hard metal bolt BEATING directly against the rear of your receiver. Our buffers are made identically to the factory original buffers and disassembly of the bolt is required to properly install them per factory design. However, you can also simply clip the corner out of the buffer and instantly install it with no disassembly of the bolt required. The best of both designs!
